Nara Daimonji Okuribi

From 8 PM on August 15th, the Daimonji Okuribi will be held at Mount Takamado in Nara City.
Daimonji is a term that represents the kanji character "大".
A fire in the shape of "大" will be set on Mount Takamado.
This event is held every year in memory of those who lost their lives in wars and disasters, as well as a prayer for peace.
Please gently join your hands in prayer towards the beautiful flames of Daimonji that rise into the night sky.

*Vehicle traffic restrictions will be in place around Nara Park. Please use trains and buses to get to Nara Park.
