Do not approach male deer

The deer in Nara Park have entered their mating season.
Normally, the deer are very calm, and you hardly feel any danger even when you approach them, but it's different during the mating season.
Fights between aggressive male deer can suddenly start right next to you.
So during this time, please avoid going near male deer as much as possible.
Never try to grab their antlers for fun.
There are cases where people get injured from being gored by their sharp antlers.
Please also be careful of male deer that have already had their antlers cut.
They may become agitated and charge at humans.
Keep an eye on your surroundings and maintain a safe distance while enjoying your interaction with the deer.
