About Naramachi

Located in the southeastern part of the city center of Nara, Naramachi District is an area with a historic townscape.
It is said to have been built based on a section of Heijo-kyo, which was the capital during the Nara period(710-784).
The streets of the late Edo and Meiji periods remain in Naramachi District, and you can feel the atmosphere of those days.
There are many cafes, variety stores and souvenir shops, and it is a popular spot for tourists.
